About us

Throw to Fire is the ceramic studio of Bex and Stan - makers, teachers, designers and potters.

We started making pots in 2016 and were enthralled by the process of working with clay and the endless opportunities to create. Throw to Fire started in the spare room of our first floor flat and has since been up-graded to a self-built, garden studio. We are based in Brighton and like most Brightoneons we love the individuality and artist flair of the city. We opened our house and ceramic studio this year for  Artist Open Houses and are looking forward to opening again next year.

We create pieces that are simplistic in form with clean lines and purposeful details. The exterior of our pieces are unglazed to leave a tactile finish. Instead of using glaze to add colour we use a variety of clays and stains to achieve our neutral colour palette of greys, greens and soft whites.
