Bud Vase (Spring Collection)

These handmade ceramic bud vases are part of the Maker’s Collection, featuring a series of one-off and small batch finishes that explore pattern, surface, and process.

Each vase is wheel-thrown using the same weight of clay (330g), but formed freely on the wheel—resulting in subtle variations in shape and proportion. No two are exactly alike, giving each piece its own character.

The collection includes four distinct finishes:

Marble (sage & chalk / charcoal & chalk)
Coloured clays are blended together on the wheel, creating soft, fluid patterns. Each marble vase is unique, with natural variation in tone and movement.

Mishima (damson / sage)
A decorative inlay technique where lines are carved into the surface and filled with coloured clay. Available in damson or sage, this process creates a subtle contrast within the clay body.

Each ceramic bud vase is finished with a clear glaze, making it fully watertight and suitable for fresh or dried stems.

Designed for single stems or small arrangements, these vases work well on shelves, bedside tables, or windowsills.

Rather than adding the colour through the traditional method of glazing, we instead work with coloured clays. All of our coloured clays are mixed by hand, ensuring that the colour is integrated throughout the entire ceramic form.
