Private Wheel Throwing Lesson
Private wheel throwing lessons are two hours long and take place in our garden studio in Brighton. Each session is tailored to your ability, so whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to build on existing skills, we’ll guide you through the process.
We keep the atmosphere relaxed, giving you space to work at your own pace and ask questions along the way. The aim is for you to leave feeling more confident, with a new (or improved) set of skills.
The price includes all materials, glazing, and firings. Once you’ve made your pieces, we’ll trim the bases, glaze them (from a choice of five glazes), and fire them in the kiln. Your finished pots will be ready to collect in around 4–6 weeks.
Lessons are available at the following times:
Wednesday: 6–8pm
Thursday: 10–12 and 2–4
Friday: 10–12 and 2–4
Unfortunately we do not offer sessions on weekends.
New dates are released on the 1st of each month for the following month (for example, on 1st May, June bookings will be released).

Price range: £110.00 through £140.00
We provide aprons, but clay can be a little messy so don’t wear your favourite outfit. Short nails are best too but not necessary.

If your plans change and you need to cancel, we’re happy to change your booked lesson to a later date or offer you a refund if we’re notified 1 week before.

About Bex: Bex co-founded Throw to Fire in 2020 and has been working with clay since 2016. Specialising in tableware, Bex has a keen eye for detail when it comes to making identical forms. From working as a secondary school science teacher for 6 years, Bex has blended her love for pottery and teaching.
